MLB takes financial control of the Dodgers from Frank McCourt: Commissioner Bud Selig stripped Dodgers owner Frank McCourt of financial control of the club Wednesday, saying he would appoint a trustee to oversee the team's business affairs while investigating the "operations and finances of the Dodgers and related entities." Selig intervened after McCourt required a $30-million loan from Fox last week in order to meet the team's first payroll of the season.

Maybe Prokhorov can buy them, build a stadium next to the new arena and move them back to Brooklyn.

This is for the McCourts.
Is that Bud Selig laughing?

It's everyone in L.A. who has ever liked baseball, Dodger fan or otherwise.

Really a shame he didn't manage to buy the Red Sox.

My advice to the McCourts (applies equally to either one) is this. With the cost of fighting this divorce settlement getting higher and higher, it might have been cheaper to hire a hit man. Criminal defense lawyers would probably cost less. You could use a justifiable homicide or temporary insanity defense. If you could pack the jury with all women (for Mrs. McCourt) or all men (for Mr. McC), your chances of beating the rap would be pretty good.

Given recent history of MLB propping up finances of a team (last year), how much should I bet on Dodgers making World Series this year?

Someone had to. The McCourts are crooks and their divorce will not only expose them for that, but it will also bring some pretty tight scrutiny form both the IRS. There are rumors about an FBI investigation over $140 million in non declared money from the team.
