Man City Beats Man U to Reach FA Cup Final: Yaya Toure scored the only goal in Manchester City's defeat of local rival Manchester United Saturday and advanced to May's FA Cup final. It's the first trophy game for Man City since the 1981 FA Cup.

From a Liverpool perspective this is a good result since the Reds are more likely to play in next season's Europa League, and will if City win the FA Cup. If the Red Devils had won that possibility would have been closed off.

I also think City deserved the win on the field, especially after Scholes' all too typical recklessness. ManU missed Rooney a lot more than City missed Tevez.

First trophy game since 1981 for City? How quickly people forget.

By the way, what's Rio's problem? Don't tell me he didn't spend 90 minutes trying to wind Balotelli up, then he loses it after the final whistle. In any case, you could play the drummer from Franz Ferdinand next to Vidic in United's defence and not notice the difference.

So if Stoke can win, we'll see the Potters in Europe next year. I look forward to the possibility of some European giant falling into whatever the UEFA Cup is called next year and having to go to Stoke on a wet Tuesday night.

Also, credit to Paul MacInnes (and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio) for this :
