Free Darko Goes Dark: Free Darko calls it quits. Contributors to the irreverent basketball writing site that Brian Philips describes as "a vintage record shop that radiation turned into a grad student" talk about what Free Darko meant to them. Also, an interview with Free Darko writer and illustrator Bethlehem Shoals and Jacob Weinstein (via MetaFilter).

Big co-signs on Shoefly and Eric Freeman's blurbs. That post felt a lot like the last episode of M.A.S.H.

Sad to see them go (and Chauncey Billups before them). I can highly recommend their book.

Yep - Free Darko was one of those great corners of the internets. I read it more regularly a couple years ago, but it was the Sports McSweeney's to me.

Also since the real Darko's career in the NBA technically (and I mean TECHNICALLY) out-lasted the site, should Darko feel good about it?
