Hey, if you're going to miss a big check, make sure you take out something else.

Didn't look overly malicious, at not as late as they make it out to be. Interference, mostly definitely. But I doubt Chara meant to drive him head first into the partition. Not worthy of 5 and a game, IMO...

Yes, he did.

He gave an extra push with his forearm to make sure Pacioretty's head was going to make contact with the partition. If he was really just throwing a late check, he would have used his shoulder, not his hands.

The oddly humourous part of that video is watching the smallest guy on the ice at the time (Gionta, 5'7") circling Chara (6'9") after the play. It's like a chihuahua barking at a great Dane.

When do El Heat play Les Cavaliers again this season? That'll give Miami the boost they're looking for.

I just don't think Chara intentionally shoved him into the partition. His hit was late, yes, and he did shove him with his arms/hands as opposed to a shoulder or hip...but I just can't imagine he intended for Pacioretty's head to hit the partition like it did. Looks more to me like just bad luck. If that hit happens anywhere else on the ice, Pacioretty doesn't get hurt, and there's a real chance there's no penalty called...
