Sharks prospect battled schizophrenia to the end: At Tom Cavanagh's funeral, on a clear New England winter day, the eyes of mourners gathered at the cemetery were drawn upward by a remarkable sight. Two rainbows had appeared in the sky -- one inverted in the shape of a smile.

A double rainbow? What does it MEAN?!

It means that a bunch of people without anything to be happy about were desperate for a symbol.

Or maybe a not very imaginative reporter was desperate for an opening paragraph.

I was referencing this, which I thought was an internet thing that the kids were into, but I'm way to old to really know and I was just really being a bit slapdash and probably far too flippant about something terribly sad.

The guy was smart enough to get through Harvard, but his brain failed him. I don't understand what causes schizophrenia in young males. What a terrible disease.

I had a colleague a few years back who came from a large family, about 7 or 8 siblings, and he was one of the only ones who didn't suffer from schizophrenia. He was a chipper, upbeat guy, but I can't imagine growing up surrounded by family members suffering from this (their father had it too) and feeling like you were the abnormal one, because you were spared. How do you reconcile something like that in your head? What becomes 'normal' to you?
