NHL players rate best and worst of the game in poll: For the first time, a majority supports maintaining the instigator rule. Other highlights: no one wants to play for the Islanders, the Capitals are overrated and a fair bit of Sidney Crosby. Full results here.

Those votes for Joe Louis Arena have to be strictly because of the boards. They still use stanchion-style glass, which I'd imagine the players love getting hit into more than the rock-hard seamless stuff in other arenas. The boards are wicked for errant bounces, though...so much so Wings players spend hours testing how pucks bounce off different areas. Nick Lidstrom has said he still doesn't know how pucks are going to bounce at times, and he's been here a little while...

Cool poll, though it's annoying to click on every single result individually, or am I missing something to make life easier?

I was glad to see the players vote Quebec City as the place which should receive an NHL team, although I was pleasantly surprised by the large vote (53%). I wanted to see another team there since the Nordiques left.
And whose idea was it to even ask if the NHL should do away with fighting. Fighting is part of the game. The players obviously think so too.

Maybe it was to prove a point to Michael Wilbon?

In summary: Even his opponents will admit that Sidney Crosby is awesome. And that Ron Wilson's time is almost up...
