Sabermetrician In Exile: SpoFites seem to love the analytical geekiness of baseball but McCracken's is a cautionary tale of the Internet era.

This guy's poor-me story got on my nerves. He invented a great stat that changed the game of baseball and had a chance to be an analyst for the Boston Red Sox for five years. It's a shame he hasn't been able to turn that into a nice living for himself (yet), but it's not anybody's fault but his own.

A cautionary tale about how if you have mental problems and are obsessive it can cut both ways. Not really cautionary about baseball statistics.
