U.S. Women Draw Group of Death: The U.S. women's soccer team may have drawn the toughest group at next summer's World Cup tournament, joining North Korea, Colombia and Sweden in Group C.
Not being familiar with the best women's soccer teams, my initial reaction was that this headline was a political statement regarding North Korea and Columbia. Too bad Iran didn't qualify. In any case, I do enjoy watching soccer, and hopefully many of these games will be televised.

Colombia, why?

America isn't locked up with North Korea, Colombia and Sweden. No, this year, North Korean, Colombia and Sweden are locked up with America.

Colombia, why?
Murder. A lot of it. It's a byproduct from having a civil war for four decades. (Also, of your major export being cocaine, but eh).
So, in review: The world's most despotic state. A country torn apart by drugs and violence The United States Sweden
It's an interesting group. How good are the other teams. I'm guessing Sweden is the best team (other than us), and DPRK is the worst?

Bonkers: that's your reasoning, I'm wondering what bender's is.

I'm not sure it's the hardest group. I looked at ours yesterday (Brazil, Norway, Equatorial Guinea). If you're not seeded, you can end up with last time's finalists and previous champions.
Besides, when did a US Women's team have to worry about anybody at the level of North Korea and Colombia?

Colombia, why?
Generally what Bonkers has linked, plus The Two Escobars. Columbia's not quite at the forefront like North Korea is nowadays, but looking at the rest of the WWC field, they fit that bill more than anyone else.
We can return to discussing soccer.

It just struck me as odd because if Colombia is or ever was at the forefront of anything, it would be lawlessness, which strikes me as being dramatically different than North Korea, which is lawful to a fault. FYI, I wasn't the one who digressed from discussing soccer, so there's really no need to chide me over it.
