Fans Needed to Save Sheffield Wednesday: Fans of Sheffield Wednesday FC, one of the oldest soccer clubs in the world, have launched a bid to take over the team after a judge ordered it to wind up operations in the next 28 days. "We only have days left to save the club," said local businessman Garry Scotting, who pledged more than $790,000 and urged others to join in. The One Wednesday fund-raising effort has pledges thus far of $3.1 million. The club, which plays in England's League One, is an estimated $37 million in debt.
