Soccer Coach Sends Backups to Conference Tournament: The coach of Florida State's women's soccer team has been suspended for the first game of the NCAA Tournament because he left his starters home for the ACC Tournament to save them for the NCAA tournament, where they're expected to get an at-large bid. A team of backups lost 3-1 to Wake Forest in the first round. Mark Krikorian said sending substitutes was "in the best interest" of the team. Athletic director Randy Spetman said, "I want people to know that this was my decision and there was never any intention to disrespect the ACC or our championship events in any way."
Could you imagine if a professional coach tried to do this? Like if a Premier League manager tried to field the second team for a League Cup match or even for a match against lesser competition with a more important match coming up later that week? That would be ludicrous.

This AD has denied his athletes a chance to win a conference championship. I don't see how he could throw that away.

What a disrepectful tool. The NCAA ought to not invite them on principle.
I don't care who the f--- you are, send your team to the tournament. No one says you have to play them the whole team, just show up.
