Giants Win Game 2 in a Laugher: An eighth inning Texas Rangers bullpen collapse turned a 2-0 game into a 9-0 rout, sending the San Francisco Giants to Texas with a 2-0 World Series lead. Matt Cain preserved his 0.00 postseason ERA in 7 2/3 innings. Rangers relievers walked four batters in a row in the eighth inning, then gave up a double and triple to complete the eight-run two-out rally that sealed the win.
Horrible game as it went on. That eighth inning looked like a middle school girl's softball game, with walk after walk.

I'm pretty sure that I could feel Nolan Ryan's seething rage during that inning here in Boston, it burned so intensely.

I thought it was a terrific game until the nightmare eighth. The Rangers were an inch from scoring the first run on Ian Kinsler's shot to centerfield. They fail to score him, Edgar Renteria homers and the announcers are saying C.J. Wilson is pitching good but Cain is pitching "great." It was just one run!

That 8th inning was tough to watch. Most of those walks weren't even close. Hard to believe that Major League pitchers wouldn't be able to regroup and throw strikes.
Sad way to end a game that had been enjoyable up to then.
If i grow a beard this winter, I'm most definitely dying it black, great look.

Suddenly I don't feel so bad about my Phillies losing in 6 to these guys...

That John C. Reilly impersonator was a beast on the mound.
I was wondering who Matt Cain looked like and Magic Man is pretty good. I came up with Mike Golic.

I begged my roommate to turn that game off in the 8th. How depressing.

It was 2-0 (not 1-0) and a very good game until the bottom of the 8th.
Historic bullpen meltdown... I don't much care for Texas and am a Giants fan, but I felt for the Rangers then.
The Giants' blowouts do nothing but make me nervous. I'm not convinced the baseball gods are ready to give SF a championship....yet.

A nice moment at the Game.

That was cool. It's hard to cultivate a proper dislike of the Giants and their fans. When in the game did it occur?

I think it was the middle of the 8th.

Not sure which former mlb player it was, but one on the MLB networks was claiming last night that SF had the most vicious fans in the game, said he heard much worse from the stands in SF than either NY or Boston.
Never heard that before, not saying it's true, but he was pretty adamant.

They hate the Dodgers, that's for sure. As far as other teams, they don't hold a candle(stick) to the fans in the Northeast corridor.

I would tend to side with you.
However, players are the ones that are listening to the fans game after game after game. If he says he's heard worse in SF I would think there's something to it. I would be interested in a players poll to see if there would be any surprises (not ny, boston, phil...). They should know best.

Time to stop talking about Cliff Lee and start talking about Matt Cain. That John C. Reilly impersonator was a beast on the mound.
