Another QB controversy in Philly?: After Kolb's three-touchdown, 326-yard day against the Atlanta Falcons, the quarterback question is back in Andy Reid's court.

There is absolutely no way Vick should get his starting job back. Kolb played extremely well, the team is responding to him and he didn't kill any dogs.

Welcome to the bench again, Mike.

As some of the morning sports programs mentioned today, Philadelphia is fortunate on one hand to have two quarterbacks playing well. Buffalo can't find a QB on their roster since Jim Kelly who ever plays well.

That said, Reid made himself look stupid from the start with this situation. Coming out of camp knowing full-well he was giving the job to Kolb, a young, relatively-unproven QB at the pro level, then giving him the hook so early in the season? He knows what he had in Vick, as everyone who follows football has seen enough of him to know what he brings to the table. But is Reid really so stupid as to think Kolb wouldn't struggle in a game or two (plus the fact he got hurt)? He should also understand that no matter how good Vick looked prior to his injury he, too, will have some poor games. What will Reid do then?

Maybe he'll use the fact Kolb hung Jackson out to dry on the one incompletion that almost cost him (Jackson) his life Sunday as the reason he's still not ready to be the full-time starter.

Reid has always been a bad manager of his QBs. Even when McNabb was at his best Philly always seems to have a QB situation. Reid's propensity for benching a quarterback at the first cold streak or bad game is detrimental to the moral of the team in my opinion.

If I were the coach of Philly I would make Kolb the starter and use Vick at other positions and in special situations. As long as there is offensive line protection Kolb is better to have behind them. Vick excels when things go bad, but any team that expects to be a contender need to not be having their offensive line protection breaking down. Vicks injury is a perfect example of why this style of quarterbacking can never succeed over the course of time. Yes some big plays can occur out of bad situations but even with perfect blocking, you just don't want a QB running around in the NFL. It always ends badly.

Kolb won the starting Job and was out due to injury. Now he looks better than ever and the Eagles are responding to him at the help with better protection. The team is just way more under control of the game with Kolb than with Vick's erratic, wild and yet exciting style of play.
