Heard Luchs on the Mike & Mike show and he went on to say that he never said Mel Kiper did anything wrong other than being friends with agents so college players would take it as the agent is someone that they should be associated with.

Born, if that's the case, then it would be a mitigating factor. Still kind of bad, though, at least from ESPN's image standpoint. If they want to maintain some shred of impartiality and reporting events rather than creating them (too late at this point, and I'm not sure they really care), the appearance of impropriety (and, to be honest, the belief that everyone will have from now on out that Mel Kiper is pshing selected people for being paid) might want to make them slowly start quietly push him out of the way. I wouldn't expect it, though.
