Kissing Your Sister in Melbourne: The AFL Grand Final ends in a tie, for only the third time in history.
The TV network doesn't mind, either.
Funny you should mention the independents. At the Grand Final breakfast, the PM said in her speech that she hoped it wouldn't end in a draw.

etagloh, you're making me want to kiss my sister. A lot.

I watched on ESPN and the last three quarters (the broadcast began with the 2nd quarter) were a lot of fun to watch. How annoying that the replay won't be shown (can't DVR the web yet AFAIK).

I heard that they're getting a few independents to decide who won.
(Seriously, though, it was a fantastic contest: US residents with ESPN3 access can watch the replay, and even if you don't understand the rules, you'll appreciate the way the momentum shifted between the sides, especially in the frantic last quarter. The last draw was in 1977, before many of the players were born, and while they were understandably upset at the end that they couldn't decide it on the night, it was one of those matches where I felt, as a relative neutral, that the draw was fitting.)
The bookies (and MCG events staff) must be overjoyed.
