Mayweather's Racist Pacquiao Rant Ignored: One week after boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. went on a racist tirade in an Internet video chat about rival Manny Pacquiao, making such comments as "we're going to cook that little yellow chump" and "we're going to cook that [bleeper] up with some cats and dogs," USA Today sports columnist Mike LoPresti doesn't understand why the comments didn't spark outrage or draw wide media attention. "Is it because nobody cares about boxing?" he asks. "One more time, boxing has given us a reason to dismiss it as a sport that's turned into grimy carnival act."
I noticed that Mike LoPresti seems to ignore that Floyd apologized, as well. Granted, not the most genuine apology, but an apology.
I think people ignore this because it's boxing, which means this is either a) talk hyping a fight, b) something to be expected from the red-light district of sports, or c) not something that anyone pays attention to.

I was in Floyd's camp when Manny refused drug testing, I really don't side with either of these guys anymore.
Boxing and Boxers could certainly take some lessons from UFC. Respect your opponent and let your performance in the ring be your statement, .
