Trevor Hoffman Notches 600th Career Save in Brewers Victory: Trevor Hoffman has come a long way. Who would have guessed back in 1989 that the skinny shortstop and 3rd baseman taken in the 11th round of the amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds would someday make history as Major League Baseball's all time saves leader?

One of the impressive things about his accomplishment is that it came against a team that had been lighting him up.

He certainly stumbled towards 600. That aside, it is certainly a remarkable achievement.

For any given game you can get somewhat lucky and get a save (3 hard line drive outs for example) however hats off to Hoffman. It might have taken awhile but I'm glad he got his chance. He was the "go to guy" for many years. I'm happy for him and his great career. I'm most especially grateful that he didn't get one of his saves during the play-in game back in 2007 vs the Rockies.
