Liverpool's Javier Mascherano 'would resolve Barcelona's needs' according to coach Pep Guardiola, who is on the verge of selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to AC Milan, a move which could prompt an increased offer for Liverpool's Javier Mascherano. Oddly enough the team already has World Cup winner Sergio Busquets and the equally fierce Seydu Keita to man the spot, not to mention that Guardiola often plays Xavi and Iniesta as his two central midfielders.

Steinbrenner will take his place among the club's other legends in Monument Park at Yankee Stadium. Even as someone who abhors the Yankees and the pompous nature which they represent, I do have to concede that this is the correct and obvious move.

Story seems to indicate that he is getting a monument and not just a plaque. Does anyone know, is that right? I can see him getting a plaque; but a monument?

Monmouth Park track announcer Larry Collmus had his worst nightmare (night gelding? night stallion?) come true on Sunday. His call of the 7th race is hilarious.

For some reason the YouTube video will only load a few seconds at a time. Don't know why.

My wife didn't know, but she found out, and now I'm still laughing at this.

Agreed. After the ECL last season, they should be looking for a striker or two, or at least someone that wants to shoot occasionally.

Owlie, they did buy David Villa and he's pretty ruthless in front of goal. Will be interesting if they do sell Ibra to Milan.
