LeBron Doesn't Vant to Be Alone: J.R. Moehringer followed LeBron James closely in the weeks leading up to the "Decision" debacle for a profile in the current GQ. He thinks the primary motivation behind the unprecedented free agent collusion was James' discomfort at going it alone. "It seems pretty clear that Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh aren't just the best talent he can surround himself with, but they're a combination of talent and friends," Moehringer said in an interview. "He's at his best when he has his brothers in arms around him and he's at his worst when he's completely alone."

That was pretty fascinating. It was both sympathetic to James and revealing of his weaknesses. Wanting to be surrounded by friends is great, but there was also a sense that it wasn't fully developed yet. It makes me wonder if maybe he has been surrounded by so many people talking in his ears, that he has never gotten to know and trust the voice in his head.
