Scottie Pippen picks some guy to give his induction speech: If you've never read David Halberstam's "Playing for Keeps" or Sam Smith's "The Jordan Rules" — both about the 1990s Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan, duh, and both essential — then you might not know how much Michael Jordan hated Scottie Pippen early in their careers.

Anyhow, now that we're all hip to the history behind the greatest duo of the 1990s, we can talk about how cool it is that Jordan will be giving the introduction speech for Pippen's Hall of Fame induction this Friday.

If I had one wish with regards to the NBA, past or present (a wish that didn't have to do with the Miami Heat never winning a game), it would be that there could be some sort of agreement reached where we would only be able to see highlights of Michael Jordan and NOT have to ever hear him speak. Personality-wise, I always thought he was a dick, and Pippen was a slightly less-talented dick. They were made for each other, so this induction scenario isn't surprising. Count me as one person who won't be listening.

Pippen should join the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. He's proven himself capable in the role of second fiddle.

He was also a pretty good temporary first fiddle after Jordan left the Bulls for baseball, and they still went to the conference finals. I was impressed with that team's effort and determination. A noteworthy coaching job by Phil Jackson.

Wasn't Scottie Pippen in the Beatles?

After hearing Michael Jordan's induction speech, I can't imagine the horror of this one.
