CFL and players reach tentative labour deal: Labour issues are rare in the CFL. In years when the two sides couldn’t get a deal done before the expiration of the previous one, they’ve operated under the terms of the old CBA until a new one was reached. Keeping games on the field is of vital importance for the league, given its teams draw a big chunk of their operating revenue from ticket sales. Two of the more contentious issues on the bargaining table were daily work hours and reducing the number of Canadian-born players teams must start.

Ack! I had a lengthy blurb ready to post and got blasted from my server!?!? I hate it when I'm wasting time at work and my wasted time gets wasted! See if I can't bullet some of the points I wanted to make again ...
1. Glad that it looks like a deal is in place. The league could ill-afford a lockout.
2. I'm curious to see the details of this deal, especially in regards to Canadian content (on the heels of a more prominent Canadian draft, and the quality of the Canadian starters in recent seasons (notably, in key positions like receiver and RB), I can't see how they would drop the ratio ... but you never know what needs to be sacrificed to get a deal done)
3. Now that a lockout no longer looms, who's with me in being anxious to get our freak on in the CFL Pick 'Em? Really, it's been the pride of the locker room here at SpoFi.
