Weber Fails to Make Yankees Roster: Jon Weber, a 32-year-old outfielder whose quest to make the New York Yankees roster has been covered widely in the New York media, has failed to make the cut despite leading the team in hitting over the spring. "I had Joe Girardi, all the coaches, everyone, telling me to stay ready in case something happens," said Weber, who has never reached the bigs in 11 professional seasons. He's been sent to Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
