Premier League Rejects Playoff Proposal: England's Premiership has rejected an idea to use a playoff to decide fourth place, the last position to qualify for the Champions League. Representatives for Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United spoke up in opposition to the idea, while Aston Villa's Martin O'Neill called it something "people might go for." Fourteen of 20 teams needed to OK the proposal.

Good! Playoffs belong in the US...if anything, US Soccer needs to follow Europe's example instead of the other way around. Why would they even consider this?!
