What's remarkable about Federer's demolition of Murray is the Muhammad Ali-like way that the Rog told the world's press exactly how he was going to win.

Egypt get the threepeat at the African Cup even though the team once again will miss the World Cup. The Pharaohs scored 15 and conceded only two, with victories over four teams that did qualify for South Africa. Makes me wonder why they're so good in continental play but not on the world stage--one reason, perhaps, is a lack of players who play club ball for a big European side.
Meanwhile back in London, Rooney went net for his 100th Premier League goal in a 3-1 thrashing of The Arsenal at The Emirates. Thrashing is IMO the right word for the result after watching; even the one goal Wanker's Boys got was a bit of luck after taking a deflection off third choice centerback Johnny Evans.

Fox Soccer Channel is claiming to be broadcasting some games and other programming in HD the last few days and have announced the Setanta takeover (as Fox Soccer Plus) as of 1 March. Are any of you getting the HD feed? Now that you'll be getting FSP, which will also be HD? Comcast is silent on both, at least on their website and @comcastcares.

I saw the HD designation in the top right corner of the Arsenal-United broadcast today and flipped through my complete channel guide (Comcast, Chicago) and could not find a separate HD feed.

Bill - not sure what your point is, since they have to play exactly the same teams to win the Africa Cup of Nations as they do to qualify for the World Cup.

Barack Obama lends a voice in the CBS broadcast booth during yesterday's Duke v. Georgetown game. Pretty funny guy, he is.

I was disappointed with that game, Georgetown absolutely dominated the Blue Devils.

Is this a sure sign that the world is coming to an end?
Please tell me that F-1 won't make this mandatory.

I think it would be pretty cool, Howard. Electric vehicle technology is still in its infancy and with more R&D time and money, they should have some pretty awesome cars and motorcycles on the tracks. I look forward to hairpin turns at a hundred MPH.

Um, this might the best intro video of all time.

I'm getting HD now and I'll get Fox Soccer Plus. They're gong to replace one of the two Fox Soccer en Espanol channels with it.
This is Cablevision in northern NJ (northern Bergen County).

Fraking Comcast!
Owlie, I mean Egypt do great in African tournaments but rarely progress out of qualifiers to the World Cup, nor do I recall them doing well at a Confederations Cup (though less sure of the latter).

I watched part of the Chelsea/Burnley game at lunch on Saturday in HD, but I think it was on a Satellite service.
