The Eagles have given a courage award to Michael Vick. On the one hand, I am happy he's moved on and is a model citizen, however on the other, it seems like an award for courage is contentious to say the least.

Seems like a bit of a force feed. Unsure why they would make that award. He doesn't meet all the criteria.

At the very least, it shouldn't have been announced. Someone should have realized that it is not good press. For either the player or the club. Too easy to spin into a negative thing.

Bucs fans from bygone days, here's a bit of good cheer, once removed.

Don't let anyone say that there were never any manly moments in the creamsicle uniforms.

People's exhibit A: James Wilder.

Wilder's son is also an RB in the Tampa area, playing big time HS football, and he knows how to take care of business.

Fun to see the son picking up where the father left off. A nice hefty Madden Boom! rating on this clip.

Given that "community role model" is one of the criteria on which the courage award is based on, I'd say the Eagles were a bit generous in awarding Vick this honor.

Maybe in a few years once he's actually done something to merit it, unless of course, they were taking the fact that he hasn't been arrested for a crime since his release from prison as qualifiying for community role model.
