Unanimous choice for ACC player of the year: goes out on a limb in the Winston-Salem Journal by taking a stand against the Iraq invasion. Avoid the politics, if you prefer, and check the photo gallery for lots of admiring quotes about "the best all-around player hardly anybody ever mentions."

Yeah, man, you know, it's just, like, crazy that all these, like, reporters and stuff wanna get all up in peoples faces talking about war. It's crazy, man, you know? Whatever. I don't care what his opinion is of the pending war, or any other "celebrity" that cares to voice his or her thoughts. I'm quite content to think my own thoughts, thank you very much. Congrats to him, and good for him he was unananimous.

are no points given for standing up and voicing a dissenting opinion? it seems to me that opinions from celebrities are fine and dandy when congruent with the official line, but looked down upon when the boat is rocked. bcb2k2, this isn't directed at you in the least....its more of a general comment. and personally, the 'looking for a fight' analogy is somewhat compelling.

Actually, I never gave my opinion, because this is not the place to discuss it, and I'm not saying I completely disagree with this guy. However, I am getting very sick of some schmuk gaining celebrity, having a mic shoved in his face, and eventually going off on the pending war like he/she knows what he/she's talking about. I don't know, maybe it's just me...

BTW, the above was just giving clarification on my earlier statement. Not directed toward any particular person (wink wink, garfield ;-> ). Now, back to the sports world...
