Book Giveaway: Teach Yourself Java in 24 Hours: I'm giving away 20 copies of my new book Sams Teach Yourself Java in 24 Hours to people who know people who want to learn Java. I can send them from you as a Christmas gift, and nobody needs to know I was involved. See the link for details.

Why has SpoFi been deprived of your amazing abilities to answer random questions?

I can't answer that. Damn! There's always a first time.

Please note that I'm expecting the people who get this free book to teach themselves Java in a single contiguous 24-hour period. For too long, Sams has coddled readers who devote one hour a day to a subject and learn it at their leisure.

Heh.

Sometimes at Barnes & Noble I go by the computer section, find a Cadenhead authored book, and tell my girlfriend 'I know that guy'. She pretends not to be impressed. She's not fooling me though.

My girl's more impressed by the whole Pope thing.

I don't know if you got my email or not, I posted and emailed you right before you put up your comment about not getting any emails. Better options out there anyway from the sounds of it.

Gary: I hope that you reshelve my book with the cover facing outwards, preferably on top of a Head First Java.

My girl's more impressed by the whole Pope thing.

I tell her that all the time, but she maintains that's no excuse for my behaviour on the golf course.

When the hell did you have time to write a book? Four sites and you're still the one who puts up the most FPPs.

Impressive.

BTW, those people who post on the Drudge Retort are fucking lunatics.

If this is where we finally ask rcade which of his children he likes best, I'll get the popcorn.

I want to know what trouble rcade has gotten into after 2 am.

What trouble hasn't rcade gotten into after 2 am?

Exactly. In my youth, I could tell you some stories. Most of them involve being a dungeon master, and we all know how wild Dungeons & Dragons games can get.

When I'm writing a book, my postings here go up because it helps me avoid writing.

I'm going to avoid the favorite child question. When the members of Cruel.Com thought that I loved the Retort and SportsFilter better, they started acting out. It took a lot of toughlove to get through that.
