Montreal Alouettes win Grey Cup 28-27: Time after time this season, Damon Duval bailed out the Alouettes' offence. He did it again Sunday night, and the Als are now Canadian Football League champions. Duval's 33-yard field goal on the final play of the fourth quarter carried Montreal to an electrifying and incredible come-from-behind 28-27 victory against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 97th Grey Cup game before a capacity crowd at McMahon Stadium. It was the Als' first championship since 2002. They had lost five other championship games this decade. Duval missed a 43 yarder on the previous play, but the Riders were penalized for too-many-men on the field.

Sure they're good, but they're only a .286 team in recent Grey Cups.

Brunt recaps it nicely.

Brunt recaps it nicely.

As per usual. When I have time, I'll have to find out who sums up the entire Grey Cup festival the best. I've been to numerous Grey Cups, and I have to say that my experience was not really all that positive. Spirit of Edmonton = A+ Calgary taxi service = F . Telus Convention Centre security + overprice cover charges = F. McMahon Stadium = C ... Did I mention the Spirit of Edmonton Breakfast? A+ Oh, and so I don't look too completely pro-Edmonton/anti-Calgary, the Lion's Den was a pretty good spot. Lou Passaglia is a real class act.

Yes, I'm an Edmonton fan, but as a long-time Grey Cup goer, there are a whole schwack of items that could've been improved upon substantially for a richer, fuller experience for the out-of-town fans.

And, to close on the game note ... WOW! I can't believe I didn't predict it. In the Year of the Heartbreak Finish, how could this NOT have come down to the wire like it did? Yes, the history books will remember this one for a couple of things at the very end: the penalty that gave it all away, and the final score. Montreal 28 - Saskatchewan 27. I agree with Brunt ... it is what it is.

Awesome game, I'm glad that I watched the whole thing. I think the best part was (correct me if I'm wrong) that Montreal never had a lead the ENTIRE game. The Riders held the lead from the first field goal until there was 0:00 left in the fourth quarter and still lost the game. Has that ever happened before?
