CNN/World Soccer Top 10.: The CNN/World Soccer Top 10 is a unique ranking of football clubs determined each Monday through voting by correspondents from CNN Sports and World Soccer magazine.

You can also contribute your picks in the Fan's Poll. Interesting selection mechanism. I put Liverpool at #1. They didn't even make the list, but at least they have some votes.

Mostly, I'd agree with that list. I'd put Arsenal higher than Man U though. Oh, and how are Inter higher than AC? shrug. Americans eh? Can't live with 'em. can't live without 'em

Just one Spanish team, when the Spanish league is the strongest in the world by a country mile? And curiously, they appear to have missed out West Bromwich Albion off that list. Hmmm....

Interesting concept. It would be nice to know exactly what criteria are used to decide the rankings. I don't know enough about continental European football to talk about it, but I would have put Newcastle above both Man Utd and Arsenal. Their result at Inter was very impressive (only one English team has ever won at the San Siro, guess who?). Also they steamrollered Charlton at the weekend. Man Utd were uninspiring against minnows Basle and lucky to beat Villa. Arsenal were poor against Roma and absolutely abysmal in their defeat at Blackburn. Why this need to rank teams though? Seems artificial given the different strengths of various domestic leagues.

I think it's like the lame way college teams are ranked by sportswriters (witness NCAA b-ball tournament or college bowl games), rather than by out-and-out competitive results. Lame. Lame!

Great. Another reminder about what a dreadful week the Gunners have had (as if I hadn't heard enough about it elsewhere, but at least you guys have been merciful).

At least the Gunners aren't Man Utd. Hahahahaha.
