CFL Pick 'Em, Week 19: Tight week for points, but an even tighter race at the top. Heading into the final week of the 2009 Pick 'Em, we have a tie for first. Even if you've done the math and eliminated yourself, play for pride and make your picks inside.

Before I post his picks, I thought I'd share Schultzie's invite for feedback from CFL fans/TSN audience. Anything we can do to make the game better ...
And also, good luck to j5v and MrFrisby as they duke it out, not unlike the Riders and Stamps (or Lions and Esks for that matter), right to the bitter end of the season.

This year I celebrated Canada Day in Caledon, Ontario. Edmonton by 17. They have a Strawberry Festival at the fairgrounds. Montreal by 20. Unfortunately things got out of hand, and I ended up in hospital, with a strawberry shoved up my arse. Calgary by 8. The doctor looked at me and scratched his head. Winnipeg by 11. He asked me "Would you like some cream for that?"

How, after all this time, could I dare to still pick the Double E? 'Cause I'm still pickin' with my heart, not my head. Logically, after bein' burned in both previous meetings against the Lions, the Eskimos are valid underdogs. However, we got burned BAD the first meeting at Commonwealth. We got burned really BAD in the second (that whole Geroy last minute TD thang). But I've seen Ricky win a Grey Cup in the din of the dome in Vancouver. Eventhough they just haven't put it together consistently yet, they aren't that bad of a ball club. Besides, Edmonton went the eastern route to no avail last year. Let the Lions do that this time around. Edmonton by 8.
You know what? I hate to say it, but Andrus is gonna finally convince his squad to go out with some class. The Argo performance in Edmonton last week was embarrassing. They need to do "something" to salvage any sense of dignity. As such, they might just make a contest of this one. BAAA HHHAAAAHAAAHAAAA! Did you think I was serious? Even if they do put their best foot forward, the Alouette machine is too greased to get a grip on. Montreal by 21 ... and that'll be with the foot off the gas for the second half.
Holy coin toss, Batman! Can the Riders rebound from a stinker performance last week? Are the Stamps really peaking at the right time? The Riders are a better ball club than the Lions. And there's that whole tie to resolve from these two teams' last meeting. I mean it might not be that crazy to pick a draw this time around also. In the end, I think there can be only one ... and since they are LONG overdue, I'll have to think that the Riders are primed to actually win the Western Conference ... make the Stamps earn the right to play at home by having to play the semi. Sasquatchewan by 3 even if that FG comes in OT, it's still gonna be three.
Drumroll please .................................................. frankly, a Bomber win would just be wrong ... wrong for the league ... wrong karmically ... the TiCats deserve the home field ... and will surely get the Bomber monkey off their backs to end this season. Hamilton by 10.
oh ... one more thing ... LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GREEN & GOOOOOOOOLD!!!!!!!!

Hamilton reaches deep and pulls out the crazy at home against the Riders, while Sandro DeAngelis makes two game-winning field goals as the Stamps edge the Lions. Montreal utterly embarrasses Winnipeg, and even Little Stevie Reaves can't help the Argos against Hamilton.
With the Hamilton upset and CGY-BC coin toss, points were scarce this week. But j5v scored the most important point of all: the one that moves him into a tie for first with MrFrisby.
This is it! All the marbles are right here, and someone's gotta take 'em. Or, you know, share 'em.
WEEK 19
Edmonton @ B.C. (Friday, November 6) The winner of this game clinches a playoff spot, and the loser risks total elimination. It doesn't get any better than this.
Montreal @ Toronto (Saturday, November 7) Tough to say, but chances are good that Montreal plays their starters. They have a first-round bye, and rust is a playoff team's worst enemy. Maybe next year, Little Stevie Reaves. Maybe next year.
Calgary @ Saskatchewan (Saturday, November 7) How about this one? These two teams were 1-1-1 head-to-head this season, with Calgry outscoring Saskatchewan by single touchdown. It's a coin toss if I've seen one. Did I mention that the winner clinches the division title, and the first-round bye?
Hamilton @ Winnipeg (Saturday, November 8) Another compelling match-up: if Hamilton wins, they clinch a home playoff game, and Winnipeg will be eliminated by a crossover from the West. But if Winnipeg wins, they take the season series 3-1 to break the tie for second and host a home playoff game themselves. Want to call this one? I sure don't.
