Winning Without a Pitch? Try This!: Alan Embry has been one-upped, as a former Washington Nationals pitcher wins one after having been traded. It's hard enough for a Nats pitcher to get a win; too bad they have to give one to someone several hundred miles away.
This has been a good week.

Why is it a surprise that a player on another team gets credit for a Natinals win? They've been giving away wins for years...

Not only that, but the guy who scored the winning run (Nyjer Morgan) wasn't even on the Nationals when the game started. In fact, he was the guy traded for the winning pitcher.
I thought I read or heard yesterday that Hanrahan was taking a nap when the game ended. So he can claim that he can win games in his sleep now. Let's see Lincecum or Santana try that!

That's fucking awesome. This is why I love baseball!
Reasons not to like baseball: the recent trend of crappy pitchers on 3rd-rate teams nearly no-hitting the Red Sox lineup, night after night. WTF?!

Not sure the A's pitcher who threw the 2-hitter is crappy. He looked pretty solid (though their bats have been quiet).

Hey, that's one of the reasons I love baseball.

I always thought that only players on the roster of a team at the time of the original game were eligible to participate in the completion of a suspended game. I guess that isn't the case in the Major Leagues. Maybe I'm confused with a high school rule.
