A stone-cold lock: The New York Islanders didn't shock anyone by picking OHL star John Tavares first overall on Friday night. In fact, most of the draft went pretty much according to the script. Second-round continues today with the rights to deal with Florida free agent Jay Boumeester swapped to Calgary.

The Hurricanes drafted big dudes this year. All are over 6' tall and I believe that they are all over 200 lbs already. It'll be nice if they are all able to play with all of the skill guys that the Canes drafted last year.

The kid that Bruins drafted in the first round, Jordan Caron, stood next to Cam Neely on the stage. My thought was that at the age of 18 he's as big as Neely. Talk about liking size.
