I watched the video, but couldn't tell what I was supposed to be looking for. Someone want to clue me in?

In a mundane moment of the game all of the Celtic fans suddenly start cheering for no apparent reason.
This is because they believe Dundee United have just scored against Rangers in another game being played at the same moment. News of the Dundee United goal reached the Celtic fans courtesy of text messages from Rangers' fans. In fact it was all just a naughty trick and Rangers won 3-0.

LOL. How'd the announcers get clued in so quickly that the roar was because of a phony equalizer?

They'd be either watching a telly or in communication with the Setanta studio. Like the EPL, all the final round games are played simultaneously.

I like the prank. Harmless fun. But I had to read the article three times to figure out who was who and why...Celtic, Hearts, Dundee United, Rangers, Hoops. I have no idea.

Oops. I should have added a glossary.
Essentially, imagine that if the Red Sox are to make the playoffs they need a win on the final day of the season and for the Yanks, who are playing at the same time, to lose. Then at a set time a collection of Yankee fans all text different Red Sox fans saying that the Yanks have gone behind a couple of runs.
Of course, this would rely on Fenway not having a horking great scoreboard showing scores from around the league.

I've heard that the media had reported Dundee United scored, but that goal had been disallowed.
And with as many Man United supporters who hang around the Man City forums, I imagine there are just as many Celtic supporters who keep up to the Rangers going ons at FollowFollow where the prank was allegedly hatched.

None of the details were posted on Follow Follow before the prank. Only the following message by a long term member was posted to recruit people.
"Operation Tango - Sunday 24/5 Need bears (real ones) to PM me for details. Celtic need not apply."
Therefore the Celtic fans who frequent follow follow - and many follow follow members - did not know about the prank prior to it happening.
