I don't know a whole lot about NBA contracts. Is this a financially viable move? Would Yao's entrance be the trigger to get Lebron out of Cleveland?

I would think the opposite. Wouldn't LeBron want to stay in Cleveland with a rather decent but injury-prone center to throw the ball to in the paint?

Keep in mind the basis for this story is the following:
"It's very clear that the Cavaliers' next step is to buy Yao Ming," one netizen said. "And then to win the league championship, and then to build a Cavaliers' dynasty."
Which is the equivalent of someone writing a news story based off a SportsFilter comment.

Are you saying that SpoFites would, em, make up silly rumors?
BTW I heard from a neighbor who works at Oakland Coliseum that Tom Brady wants to move to the Raiders because they are headed back to LA once the stadium deal is announced in July.
