1987 Kentucky Derby Winner Alysheba Euthanized: Alysheba, the son of Alydar and winner of the 1987 Kentucky Derby, has been euthanized after a fall that injured his right hind femur. "He's the most talented horse I ever rode," said jockey Chris McCarron. The video of Alysheba's dramatic last-second Derby win is on YouTube -- "here comes Alysheba!"

rcade, thanks for the video link. I had forgotten how close that race was. I have a trip planned to Kentucky this summer with my daughter, who is a huge horse lover. It's a shame that he won't be there. RIP Alysheba.
