Suggestions Needed for Sidebar Links: I've added a link to the SportsFilter Wiki to the sidebar as the first step in fully integrating the project with the mother ship. If there are other SportsFilter-related efforts we should be linking here, or other sites that merit a front page link in the sidebar, please suggest them here.

I guess I may not be the expert on this, as I've not been here the whole time, but it seems like with the amount of crossover between here and MetaFilter, and the fact that the site began from MeFi, it might merit a link in that crossbar. Don't completely get on me if I'm wrong about this, it's just what I've observed, and a thought I had.

Completely different entities. There is a link in the opening paragraph of the wiki where the creation of SpoFi is mentioned. Personally I think that is enough.
Thanks for the linky love, rcade. Now I hope folks will take the time to add to the wiki. For the record, people can simply type http://sportsfilter.info to get to the wiki as well.

Yes, please no Mefi link. Cut the cord, already. I say that only because my last few visits to Mefi ended in my complete frustration after reading 150 comments and trying to pick out the 10% that were legitimately tied to the thread at all. Spofi seems to have the opposite ratio, lets keep it that way. (Do the mods/admins edit anything there?)
The wiki link is cool, now I can delete a bookmark :)...terrapin, I have routinely added to the fantasy sports results page, and will continue to do so, but yeah, I'd like to see more new additions there as well. Maybe put pictures of nekkid girls or something? That may attract a few more:)
As far as additional links...How about a rotating through members' blogs? Or the current fantasy results? Member of the week? Most commented thread? Terrapin's interview? (please rcade find that and all will be good - at least in VT)
Anyway, all out of ideas for now, just trying to help.

Our connection with mefi has dwindled over the years. Many of the first members came from metafilter, some have stayed, some haven't. But that's not the case any longer. And the original code came from metafilter, and that's not the case any longer. So a mention in the history of sportsfilter is probably enough.
Do the mods/admins edit anything there?
They deleted a few threads here and there, but comment moderation is almost non-existent. They simply have so much traffic it would be impossible for mods to force anyone to stay on topic.
Plus, sports fans are so well behaved. ;)

And I'm now much better informed. My thanks to you all. Bo's ideas about fantasy stuff and member of the week sorts of things sound like they could be good, if they're feasible.

Condense the "links" space. We currently have two, one at the top, one at the bottom of the sidebar. There doesn't really seem to be enough links to justify a links section in the sidebar. I would cram the Bloglines link in with the RSS Feeds section, and provide a link to an actual "Links Page" full of links to sports resources like Basketball-Reference, or even member-nominated sport/team blogs.
We'd be sharing where we pluck our FPP's, but we'd also be providing a resource for tracking down info during slow posting days (like the weekends, or holidays), as well as providing datapoints to pull from for "more intelligent discourse" when arguing just how badly the SF Giants lineup sucks.

The Sidelines also should be condensed. The Jersey Swap, stickers, fantasy sports, etc... all are threads that have been closed for some time now. How about using the sidelines for links to baseball-reference, hockey database and such or just keeping it updated with the current fantasy sport rankings, confidence pools, etc...
...Or, having a Sportsfilter poll type sideline. Favorite team, best mascot, then all those results can be transferred to the wiki as a 'sign of the times' type page.

I just noticed that the wiki is only accessible from the homepage and not any of the (many) navigations in the locker room.

As mentioned earlier, the wiki will be added to the main menu as soon as I can drop the "comments" page link.
