Johnny Red Kerr led the Bulls to the playoffs in their 1st season in 1966-67 led by guard Guy Rodgers. I only met the man once, in 1986 I was the Caddie Master at Medinah Country Club just west of Chicago. I was posting the new men's handicaps in the locker room, when I turned around Red was there, naked as a jaybird, big enough to have his own zip code ! I'll never forget that moment as long as I live..

I remember Red Kerr when he played for the Syracuse Nationals (now Philadelphia 76ers) 'back in the day'. He was a tough one, as were all the Nationals of the Dolph Schayes era. His toughness translated to his coaching style and to his teams. In what is an eerie coincidence, Norm VanLier died within hours of Kerr. They will both be missed.

yerfatma, you have a dirty mind!
