"Felt better over every shot": Tiger serves notice in his first tournament of the year, Mickelson once again wilts in the final round pressure. It's "only" the Buick Invitational, but any predictions on if this is an indication of the kind of year Tiger will have?
Your misspelling should be added to the ESPN.com top 10 heartbreak moments. Absolutely wrenching. I was moved to tears. *snif*

I'm looking forward to Els vs Woods this year. Ernie looks very confident, and Tiger is, well, Tiger. And Phil should learn to shut up until he finally wins a major. He looked like Tiger's bitch after those silly comments he made and his performance against Woods.

Tiger is going to come out and flat dominate again this year, and that's that. He is at least 50% better than any other golfer in the world right now, and that edge is insurmountable. As for Phil, is there any other person in history who has done less in pressure situations? I mean seriously, in ANY sport? He doesn't play well under the gun, and that's fine — not everyone does. But for Phil to run his mouth and THEN suck every Sunday, well, welcome to Bringing It On Yourself 101. Oh, and I miss Corey Pavin.

More Tiger love from today's SF Chronicle:
Arron Oberholser, who finished fourth, said: "The guy took a month and a half off, had knee surgery, and came out and dusted the field, a good field. I mean, come on. It's ridiculous."

I would love to see him win the calendar slam, just to put it in the face of those reporters who deigned to denigrate the Tiger Slam over two years. I can't see him winning all four, but I can sure see him winning two, the Masters and maybe the British.

vito90: I got your back up top. Since I have Ernie Els on my fantasy golf team, I am both excited and scared shitless. Ernie's rolling, but to see Tiger return like that....I mean, DAMN! Here's to hoping they meet in the final of the match play championship. Tiger will win the money title, again, but it will take him most of the season to catch up. Strike what I just said - if Tiger wins the $1million Match Play an Ernie bows out early. Looks like a veteran's year...no first time winners yet. Watch out for Charles Howell, Luke Donald, Pat Perez, Aaron Baddeley and a couple other young guns to have a chance sometime in the next month.

Els seems like the only guy who might even mount a challenge. Another guy to watch is Vijay Singh. I don't see perennial also rans David Duval or Sergio Garcia even getting a sniff at a major leader board this year.
