Happy Birthday to Us: Seven years ago today, seven members of MetaFilter pooled our money together and paid Matt Haughey to clone his code to create the first sports-themed community weblog. A day later, Justgary asked the question that we've asked ever since: "Tony Dungy promises to rebuild Indianapolis' defense, and with his defensive resume, who could doubt him?"

Wow, we share a birthday with Macintosh? How cool is that.
I thought about justgary's post when I was posting about Dungy's retirement. I was staring at the sample post the whole time I was composing mine. Eerie.

BoKnows: There was conducted on christmas eve 2005, and rcade found the post wc02 made, but the actual link to the interview just loops back to the same thread.

Happy birthday! I'm not sure if even Tony Dungy can save Indy's defence, but I'll guess we'll have to wait and see. Also, my pick for this year's Stanley Cup is Detroit. In five. Over the Cinderella-story 'Canes. Anyone wanna put up money against that?

It's hard to believe it's been 7 years. Thanks to the members that stuck around through some rough spots, and thanks to rcade for plugging along on the back end without much help (ok, sounds dirty, not suppose to).
