The Price is Right!: "That's the save of the year, and it's not even the year yet!" - (Video included)

I don't watch a ton of hockey, but that play was awesome. Viewed from any angle at any speed, you see the goalie's intent and control of both stick and body. It wasn't a wild desperation flail hoping for the best. The goalie even knew exactly where the back post attacking player and his stick were as he twisted in the air to get his own stick on the puck. What an athlete he is.

A transcendent sports moment to my eyes that fans of any sport would appreciate seeing.

I also enjoyed the announcer commentary a lot. Their realization of how great the play was unfolded a step ahead of my own realization, so they brought me through the moment very nicely.

Yeah, I didn't appreciate it on the real-time view, but on the repeated slo-mo shots you can really see that incredibly ease he just twists back and slaps down the puck, like he's practiced that move a thousand times. As beaverboard says, there's no desperation or flailing, it's just a nice graceful move.

Pretty damn impressive! Like the call, too- "it's not even the year yet!". :)

Great save.

Although from the camera above the goal, the puck probably wasn't going in...
