Spofi EPL fantasy footie: Week 22 Update. New leader! Parachuting in to land at the top of the table, mind.

Congrats to the mysterious James H! Of course, he's never poked his head into ANY of the discussion threads, just grabbed the signup info from the lockerroom thread, and has been mysteriously poking along ever since. I think we can rest assured that he won't be stopping by to gloat about his score this week, which, as mentioned, the top two scores this week are the top two scores in the Spofi pool this season. And, also, welcome (back) to Salmacis. He's been competitive with the best in this pool all season. I reopened the signups to bring him in to the fold. Sure, he's at the top but I don't think we have much to worry about. He assured me that he's likely to slip in the second half of the season. His precedent would appear to be last year. A solid member of the top 6 squads last year through week 20, before a slip to 15th by the final month of the season. Be patient and make sure you wave to him on the way down. And I say this as somebody who tends to similarly swoon later in the season.

I'm never getting a first place. Damnit.

Is it possible to undo a transfer before the gameweek starts?

How 'bout after?

I bought Saha for the week and plopped his sorry carcass in as captain, and I still gain two spots? Geezus. I never claimed to have a feel for this thing, which is good, because, um, I apparently really don't. Also, I'll believe salmacis will fall down the table when he does, and not a moment before.

Second best score one week, second worst the next. w00t!

Arsenal got a great result from Henry's return while Liverpool are in great form since the teams met in November. Any predictions on the two cup matches this next week? I favor the Reds in the FA Cup but not so much in the League Cup.

That sounds about right. Not that Liverpool can't make it up in the Prem, but both Chelsea & Man U collapsing is a lot to ask.

Chico, LOL, League Cup == Carling Cup, not the EPL season title. Also, I didn't mean overall, just meant the two games against Arsenal in the two cup competitions in the next week.

bill, I'd go with the exact opposite result. Arsenal sparked by Henry tomorrow and then the inevitable let down on Tuesday. I know that both RVP and Fabregas are out tomorrow, but I got a hunch.

It took you two whole days to come back on that, bill? I'm fully aware I shouldn't even bother trying to participate in these discussions due to my laughable and humiliating ignorance, but how the hell else am I supposed to learn how the system works?

I wouldn't worry about it chico. Laughable and humiliating ignorance is pretty commonplace amongst football supporters. At least you don't combine it with obnoxiousness and bigotry. Well not often anyway.

btw, chico, you're doing a heck of a lot better than most of the others in the league, and that includes meself, a longtime English football fan. Don't be too hard on yourself. And it looks like trox was right about Arsenal v Liverpool today - 3-1, two from Rosicky and one from, who else, Henry. Bloody Arsenal.

Henry was pretty quiet to be honest. Nice goal though. You see, he cuts in from the left and.......well you know the rest.

Chico, if I were taunting you that would have been a ROFLMAO and not a LOL. The internet tubes inflate the humor level until they get filled. And of course I paid for my hubris as Rosicky did to the Reds what he did to the USA in Germany, so he's moved up the enemies list smartly.

Sorry if that came off as being touchy. This concurrent-multiple-league way of doing things is still new to me, and when Liverpool & Arsenal (& Chelsea & whoever else) are butting heads in 43 different tournaments all at the same time, well, I don't know which are more important than the others. I've barely got a handle on the Premiership, but the FA Cup, the Carling Cup, the UEFA Cup, the Champions' League, the Club Championship, and no doubt the three dozen other leagues all in full action right now are still varying degrees of beyond me.

Chico, the point is that you need to abandon music, work and the rest of life and focus on the beautiful game. Tu sabes?

So chico, no Pepsi Champsionship Fantasy League next year? I did get to see one FA Cup game this week. Thankfully it was a fun one.

So having beaten Liverpool 3-1 at the weekend, it's all gone a bit mad this evening and the Arse have won 6-3 at Anfield. And missed a penalty.

Where's our week 23 update? Pretty please.

I don't want an update, my crazed transfer dealings failed dismally.

Got the data yesterday, but the update was delayed due to a computer switch. Should be up later today.

Buddha, I don't know what you're complaining about since I had the worst score of the top 15 by far. Fraking Terry and his back, and another crap day from Rooney.
