Yet another fantasy baseball league: As discussed at the end of last season, I'm setting up an additional league. This league is intended to use an auction-style draft and keepers to keep the league running as a regular yearly event. Some have already expressed interest, but there will be additional space. More inside.
Never follows through.

How'd JJ avoid the more inside ribbing?

Previously discussed here. Since there are a number of us who are on year 3 or 4 with a SpoFi baseball league, I thought it made sense to establish a keeper league in addition to the yearly leagues and drafts. My intent with this was one, to get in a steady competitive league myself and, two, establish this as such a league with those who seem to be pretty into it every year. There are already some individuals who have expressed interest (I think). Dusted, Catfish, mbd1, jerseygirl, yerfatma, goddam check your SpoFi registered email for a link. This league will be an auction draft and will require a 4+ hour commitment to complete. There is no auto draft option. Oh yeah, a auction draft is where every team has a starting budget and you draft a team by bidding on individual players, high bid gets them. The league will also use keepers, rules/details to be determined by the members. While I'd love to have anyone who is interested play, because of the format we will need to put a cap on the league. My initial goal is 12 teams maybe expanding to 14 if interest is high. Having said that I was planning on giving preference to those who have played regularly in the past. So, if you are interested please let me know. I will be emailing the login info. Hopefully no one will be or feel left out

Maybe this is the format that makes me a champion. I've never done an auction or keeper league. Does anyone know of a good starting guide?

I've never been able to find a definitive source through Google. I have one, two, three links that you can get a lot from, but they're ESPN insider. If you can't access I can email something to you.

stofer71@yahoo.com I should ask about the draft date. I am down for the effort required in a keeper league but my schedule is hectic...if I am already booked for your scheduled draft time I may have to pass.

That last part is optional, right? Because that's not the point of a live draft. I promise to be a jerk.

We'll discuss draft date once we have all members in. I'd venture to say it will probably be a Sat or Sun afternoon EST given the make up of the league. There are a lot of details to be worked out around the draft. we'll discuss.

If there`s one thing i hate about Fantasy sports is that you have to pay why can`t we just play for the fun of it and have a good time. But i dout that will happen.

I guess you haven't been around here long. I can only remember one SpoFi pool that involved money. Most of the pool run on the Yahoo fantasty site. It is free, and it is very rare for the pools here to involve any cost. In my experience. That said, where do things stand? I'd be interested in trying a keeper league at some point.

I think we still have a couple open spots if there's still interest.
