Next time read the fine print...: The BCS finally has an undisputed national championship game as Miami defends its title against Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. But it looks like the "gentlemens club" is starting to rear its ugly head as tradition takes a back seat to dollars as the Orange Bowl books Iowa State vs USC in a match that looks suspiciously like "Rose Bowl West". Pasadena's putting on their game face but they don't like it. But tradition vs Dollars? I believe everyone will lean toward the money.

I still don't see the harm in putting iowa in the rose and oklahoma in the orange, but what do I know. I think those would still be great matchups. Even in a year when the BCS gets it right they get it wrong. I hate when traditions are ruined :(

Growing up in a big ten town, the Rose Bowl meant something very special and something more than just a bowl game. I can understand the Rose Bowl joining into the BCS system in order to get a Pac-10 team or Big 10 team into the national championship, but when they're not hosting the national championship, it just seems wrong for them not to host a Pac 10 v. Big 10 matchup when they can. Going to another BCS bowl is not in anyway a substitute for the Rose Bowl.

What in the hell? This dropped off somehow: Unraveling BCS' confusing selection process And of course I meant "Rose Bowl East" for Gods sake. I misplaced another link where Rose Bowl officials said they would review all this when the contract with BCS expires (four more years I believe) but it looks like this will happen to at least one bowl every year and I believe if the money keeps pouring in they'll learn to live with it and steal good teams for their own bowl game when they get a chance. Or not.
