Sadly, I've got Malone on both of my Fantasy Teams. And I can't stand the bastard. Grrowr. PJ Brown has been playing like old mayonnaise since I traded for him too. Add Josh Howard's injury and I'm surprised I'm in 7th.

The scary part is that if Smooth Sam Perkins/chuckdcash reappeared and took his players off the bench, he might still win. With Stojakovic, Kirilenko, Rashard Lewis, Jermaine O'Neal, Eddie Jones, Jason Richardson, etc., he had an absolutely incredible draft. Oh well, mo' fo' me!

In all seriousness, the NBA & EPL fantasy leagues are my first crack at fantasy games. It's funny that the game I do know I'm losing at, and the game I don't I might just slip out of relegation. Go Figure.

Hell no, billy. Along with futbol, it's the only sport that: a. doesn't require a ton of gear (as opposed to hockey, American football, motorsports). b. Is fast paced (unlike baseball, American football, golf). c. Requires true athletic health to play (unlike golf, motorsports, and depending on position, baseball and American football).

Perhaps we should lay the groundwork rules for next season. Proposed changes, additions, subtractions. What have you. Here's some food for thought: Shorter rosters to allow for more league members? Two Divisions complete with Relegation? Points system? (Dare I say) A different fantasy site? Any Suggestions?

We could probably do two leagues next year, with maybe ten managers per league, or open it up even more, with 30 managers and only 5 roster spots. Either way, the sausage to pretty girl ratio needs to improve. The relegation scheme cooked up by worldcuptwoyearsago and his crazy soccer buddies is getting hashed out pretty good. Maybe we could crash their discussion and see if the ideas will work for us.

Suddenly I'm worried. dusted has caught me in total transactions with his latest double grab. Enjoy Ruben Patterson's bricks at the free-throw line, dusted. But...do I have a stable lineup now? Gasp! Actually, there's something in his pattern of moves over the last month or so that's padded that total, and that I'm not sure I entirely like -- namely the tendency to pick a player up as a free agent and then immediately dump that same player for another, rendering the grabbed-and-dumped player inaccessible to everyone for three days. This kind of thing has ripe potential for abuse, and may eventually be something worth taking up with the commissioner...if only the commissioner (catfish) hadn't apparently lost interest himself about a month ago (last activity: Dec 16). Don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to take all this too seriously. Just clearing the air.

I swear it's not intentional. I just pick someone up, then see someone better. Playing the wire is the only strategy that's worked for me, and it's worked even better for you, taupe. I was way too careful earlier in the season, hanging onto McDyess for months, for example. I finally dropped him and a few others, and I was able to find much better players through trial and error. After hesitating on several players (like Hinrich, Tinsley and Medvedenko, now currently in taupe's lineup) I started making more moves. How else do you expect the cellar dwellers to stay interested?

Don't get me wrong, here, because yes, I do like playing the wire. It's just the same-day grab-and-dump that I wonder about, where it's not even possible for the player in question to put up numbers for the team that selected and deselected him. The objection here is that, conceivably, someone intent upon paralysing everyone else's roster could just sit down and grab and dump free agent after free agent, throwing them all into waivers and engendering chaos for other managers also trying to play the wire. I can understand if it's been unintentional up to this point, and since it's just ever been one player at a time, it wouldn't really be something to take to the commissioner. Hell, I may even have done it once. I just hope that if people keep in mind how that kind of thing could look, they'll be a little more careful making these moves.

I'll take it into consideration, taupe, but I'm not going to hesitate to make moves. That's how those great free agent pickups ended up on your team instead of mine. I will try to limit the same-day grab-and-dumps. (As far as Ruben Patterson goes, well... Doleac played too well tonight, and he can shoot his free throws straight!) Just know this: not one of my moves has had any goal other than to improve my team.

In Dusty's world he needs to get a player not hurt for a guy who is hurt, and curse you if you think otherwise, I hope you noticed Dusty that Q is back and playing well.
