Batter up, eh!: Baseball is back in my town (London) and across the country. It's a very, um, socialist setup as all the teams are owned by the league and there is a strict $60,000/month team salary cap. Since the teams all play in Canada, with Canadian salaries and Canadian expenses, the exchange rate is not an issue.

Sadly, they don't have individual team merchandise for sale as I would love to pick up a local team cap.

Sounds kind of like it's organized like MLS, with a smaller salary cap. The real question on my mind though is whether they will use aluminum bats or insist on the more traditional, wooden bats like MLB.

It looks like they use wooden bats as KR3 is one of the league sponsors and they advertise that they use "the finest pro grade of white and blue ash as well as maple billets."

Commissioner Jenkins That's awesome. I can't think of a more deseerving player to be the comish. I recall meeting Jenkins about 4 or 5 years ago at Cubs game, Jenkins was nothing but class. He even took time away from a personal conversation to sign an autograh for me. As for the league, I wish it the best of luck. Hopfully a scaled back league will help baseball remain north of the border. maple billets Can I put that on my pancakes?
