Navel Gazing? Anyway, how about a SpoFi Bay Area BBQ? On July 27, FoxSportsWorld will be broadcasting two games from the (mainly) European clubs American tour--ManU vs. Club America and Barcelona vs. Juventus--and I'll be happy to fire up the barbie at my house in Mountain View. Tossed salad, burgers and grilled chicken will be supplied, guests need to bring beer and dessert. There's a small but comfortable pool out back to cool off in if we want and I have Tivo for convenient pausing and replays.
Who's coming? Let me know. Spouse and/or significant others welcome, we can handle up to say a dozen people.

Vito, I'll make special arrangement if you're a vegetarian and willing to come down from RainWorld.

I'm washing my hair I'm afraid. That and the distance involved mean I shan't be attending. Have a good time though and as vito said make sure you take some photos.

Hairwashing only works as an excuse for women, squealy.

I'm allergic to cameras. But there's some pics on my "website", taken before the allergy developed. ;-)

I think bill needs to also set up another BBQ for opening day of the new EPL season, when Liverpool's starting line-up will include Finnan and Owen and KEWELL! Hahahahaahaha. Chelsea will be trashed 5-0! btw, re: July 27, let me check w/ my wife about other erm, prior commitments. squealy: You have hair? Hahahahahahaahahaha. Cheers, bill, for the generous invitation. If I can make it, I'll bring vito90's soccer book as a gift. See, vito, you will be there in spirit, if not in the flesh.

Wifes are invited, WC, mine needs company while we scream and such. You can host the return match for LFC-Chelsea, which happens to be 40 days from today.

Unfortunately, my house is not blessed with the full cable package. If I get a bonus this summer (riiiiiight ...) I might spring for it. OK if I bring the little one, too? Then your wife can watch him screaming while we scream and such. (Actually, he's quite a nice lad. I'm grooming him to take Owen's place in about 15 years.)

Were I in the Bay Area, I would love to drop by and fix my delicious Crab Rangoon dip. Alas, I will be toiling away in southern Indiana that weekend. I'm totally up for hosting one in the Midwest, however, say around the World Series? Perhaps it'll be Boston and St. Louis, eh, jgirl?

Feh. You all need to come to New York already.

I will be in NY next spring for my sister's wedding, which looks like it will be held somewhere in Manhattan, so we can have a NY SpoFi meetup then! Woot.

As much as I'd love to meet up for some tossed salad, the trip is a little far to justify. But make sure to take some pics!
