I'm melting! I can't catch a break with my hitters right now. My pitching has been fantastic, but I'm going to slide even further unless I pick up a true slugger. But if I give up TOO much pitching I'll bury any chance I have of hanging on to at least 2nd.

I'm get too many 0fer5s these days. My team really sucks.

ooooh, it's getting tighter, baby!

Not bad for a team with 4 guys on the DL. ;)

4th?! Okay, who wants Esteban Loaiza? Whoever gives me the best hitter (regardless of position), gets him. I have the pitching to win this, but obviously my hitting is not going to do it.

I need everything but pitching. I'll let Kevin Brown go for a hitter as well.

Now that's some quality trade offers! I took one (Blalock for Hudson) but I liked the others as well.

I tried to pull a couple more deals myself, but I can't give up Vernon for Kevin. It's fair dinkum, but with Carlos (Carlos!) already gone missing for Prior, I hadda hold one basher. P.S. — Carlos had three hits and four RBIs last night ... whaaaaaa!

That's okay, there were only 4 or 5 guys I was going to give up for Brown, and I got one in Sheffield.

corpse, and believe me, it hurts. I even thought of offering Pujols instead. But I seriously needed pitching and Brown is top notch. Hopfully this trade will help both of us.

Hmmm ... Prior for Pujols? *sniff sniff*

You know what would be a better measure of movement? The number of total points gained (or lost) during the week. Just a thought. Corpse, you're a swell guy for undertaking this.

I thought about doing that, and I actually had that worked up for the first week, but it just took more than the 20 minutes that I devote to this each week. Maybe I'll look into it again this week.
