When looking over my old posts here for a link, I came across a post that will live in infamy, which features my derisive mocking of Tampa Bay for its coaching woes, the prediction that "the Bucs will suck next year as punishment for getting rid of Dungy," and my claim that no one with any reputation will coach in Dallas. Has there ever been another moment here when several of us were so dramatically wrong?

I'd say a good 40% of my hockey posts have been wildly optomistic, at best. One of the worst has been this bet with Succa, which I have yet to pay off (but I will, I will). He was scared for half a season, though. What was I thinking?

It wasn't such a terrible bet, Samsy...remember, last year my team seeded 7th in the East while yours pummelled every team in the league and seeded 1st. And remember, the bet took place while you still had Guerin, Dafoe, and McLaren on your team, and mine still lugged around underacheivers like McEachern and Muckalt. I'm shocked as everyone else. That said, I and the rest of the fine patrons of SpoFi eagerly await the photos of your red-, white-, and gold-body-paint-smeared self standing with arms raised outside the Fleet Centre. Or whatever you had in mind. ;-)

Didn't I pick Xavier to win the Big Dance this year? And sorry, but I still can't link with a Mac.

Funny this should come up right as Roy Williams takes the UNC job, something a few people here guaranteed wouldn't happen (while I quietly sort of predicted it).

How about the possibility of UNC winning the NCAAs?

I predicted 12 wins, so they exceeded that, but I nailed the 6 conference wins.

Disregarding certain playoff picks last year, there's this thread. It started off completely wrong with: "Holik is going to do wonders for the rangers. Playoffs are a definite," but ends with a nice, high note: "Perhaps by then my army of flying monkeys will be assembled and prepared to kidnap Gilmour and return him to his rightful home, Toronto." where's insomnyuk anyway? There's also a lot of questioning of Belfour in that thread. Which, I guess, was also wrong.
