Could we change the background color on the main page? The blue on white is a bit jarring to the eyes, a bit too bright and stark, hard to read. As a suggestion, perhaps a background similar to the beige-y brown sand of a baseball diamond, and whatever font color goes best with that? I'll leave the particulars to the graphic designer types...

Personally I think white backgrounds are best for readability, but we could chat with the technical powers that be for a customization of link colors...

What about giving an option to choose one of four (or so) preset themes? The user could choose to display Sportsfilter in colors that suggest their favorite sport. My suggestion for a hockey theme: ice blue background, icy looking header with a red bar as the seperator. What about other sports?

I like the idea of sports-like 'themes', although it's probably an extra load of work. Wasn't there something in the blog community regarding 'skins' for a blog? Perhaps a set of 4 or 5 could be made, and alternated between, or custom chosen, or something. This is SO not my area of expertise...

Designing different themes is more work than implementing them. We could have different style sheets for the different themes, then either store the theme preference in the database, or in a cookie. Also, we could do team colors. And have pancakes.

mmm...pancakes. Themes would be great. I suggest Houston Astros ca. 1979.
