Busch wins at Chicagoland as JGR ties series record: JOLIET, Ill. -- Break up Joe Gibbs Racing! Oops! Tony Stewart has already taken care of that -- for next year, anyway -- but Stewart's departure at the end of the season, made official this weekend, couldn't slow Gibbs' momentum in the Nationwide Series.

Good luck Tony. There has been very little success among owner/drivers. DEI was successful, but Dale Earnhart drove for RCR which is a different senerio and we have all witnessed DEI's slow decline since Dale Sr. passed away. Initially the fans & sponsors will stick by Tony Stewert, but if he doesn't contend like he did with JGR his flame will die out

Lost in all of Stewart/JGR talk is the fact that Toyota has quietly beome a serious force to be contended with each and every race. I was certainly no advocate of allowing Toyota into NASCAR, but one has a very difficult time making a case that they don't deserve to stay, now that they are here. The changing to the COT surely had an effect on the ease of their ascendance into the ranks of contenders, but it appears that with or without Stewart, JGR has built a base with Toyota that can clearly be stood upon.
