Since gun barrels leave distinctive scratches on bullets that can be used to identify the gun they were fired from, why not put a "barcode" of slightly raised areas inside the barrel. You would be able to know what gun fired a shot as soon as you recovered the bullet. Sure, guns get stolen and criminals would figure out how to grind off the identifying ridges but it would help catch the really stupid crooks of which there are many.

Note that the most successful coaches aren't necessarily the most sleep-deprived. If you know how to surround yourself with good people and delegate, you can win as many as the control freak insomniacs, maybe more.

This brings up several interesting questions. If one test can be wrong why can't two be wrong a small percentage of the time? Could Floyd Landis be the victim of two false positives? Which of Marion Jones' tests was accurate? Why does a sprinter fail a test for an endurance enhancing drug and a long distance cyclist fail a test for muscle building drugs? So many questions.

Tiger showed us what he could do with his "B" game. Scary. I don't think we should dis the rest of the field for folding when Tiger's on the prowl. Some do, and did Sunday, but Cink came back from 3 strokes down on the last three holes to force a playoff and then hung with Tiger until he birdied the fourth playoff hole. I don't think that qualifies as choking or being intimidated. Cink's demeanor was fine, he just wasn't quite good enough to beat Tiger Sunday.

I'm glad they got rid of the Disney movie name. That was was simply embarassing. It's bad enough that the professional sports teams have to play games in ballparks named after orange juice and car insurance.

I'm shocked. After the Mavs dominated game 2 I figured the Heat might win one game. Game 3 seemed like that one game with the improbable comeback by the Heat unlikely to be repeated. Now I don't have any idea how it will turn out. I suspect there will be a game 7.

University of Phoenix gets naming rights to Cardinals stadium
I love it! A school without a sports program will have its name on a 455 million dollar stadium.
